The Briefcase

A man was walking through the streets of downtown, very apprehensive and nervous. He was carrying a briefcase and looking everything around, fearing someone was following him.

The man turned the corners, entered the stores, stopped, and looked at everyone around him. The tension filled the air; he was sweating, lacking oxygen. He tried to loosen his tie, but that also did not help. The tension and fear were growing.

He arrived at a dirty alleyway where no one wanted to pass. He stayed near a trash can for a few minutes, looked to see if no one was watching him, and threw the briefcase in the trash can. He left the alleyway hurriedly and entered a train station.

A woman arrived at the trash can, took the briefcase, and opened it. She was thrilled as she analyzed the contents and said, “This is worth much more than gold or any other jewel.”
