Mon 30ᵉ livre : Marc - L'Évangile du Serviteur

Atteindre le cap des 30 livres publiés, c'est regarder en arrière et voir une longue route, parcourue avec une passion inébranlable pour raconter des histoires. Aujourd'hui, je célèbre avec vous cette trentième étape littéraire en vous livrant le deuxième volume de notre voyage le plus ambitieux : la Collection Voix du Royaume.

Si dans le premier livre (Matthieu) nous avons été présentés à "l'Évangile du Roi" avec l'envergure monumentale et la fureur poétique de Victor Hugo, je dois maintenant vous demander de reprendre votre souffle. Le décor a radicalement changé.

L'Évangile de Marc est le récit de l'urgence. Il n'y a pas de temps pour les généalogies ou une enfance sereine. C'est l'Évangile de l'action continue, de la survie brute, où le mot "aussitôt" dicte le rythme. C'est l'histoire d'un Dieu fait Serviteur qui marche, en sueur et épuisé, guérissant les malades, chassant les démons violents et affrontant la mort en face.

Pour réécrire ce rythme haletant, sans perdre une seule virgule de la fidélité théologique et historique, j'avais besoin d'une plume qui coupe les excès. Une prose rapide, directe et tranchante. C'est pourquoi j'ai fait appel au génie du maître du roman d'action français : Alexandre Dumas.

Dans Marc : L'Évangile du Serviteur, le langage poétique cède la place au muscle de la narration. À travers l'esthétique de Dumas (rappelant le mouvement magistral de Le Comte de Monte-Cristo), vous n'allez pas seulement lire sur les miracles ; vous allez sentir votre gorge s'assécher avec la poussière de la Galilée. Vous ressentirez la terreur primitive des disciples dans la tempête, le désespoir du père de l'enfant épileptique, la tension d'un jugement clandestin et la douleur nue et crue de la croix en bois.

Le voyage est rude et sans romantisme. Le Maître marche en tête, les pieds fendillés et le regard résolu vers le Calvaire.

My 30th Book: Mark - The Gospel of the Servant

Reaching the milestone of 30 published books is looking back and seeing a long road, traveled with an unwavering passion for telling stories. Today I celebrate this thirtieth literary milestone with you by delivering the second volume of our most ambitious journey: the Voices of the Kingdom Collection.

If in the first book (Matthew) we were introduced to the "Gospel of the King" with the epic scope and grand social compassion of Charles Dickens, now I must ask you to catch your breath. The scenery has changed drastically.

The Gospel of Mark is the account of urgency. There is no time for genealogies or a serene childhood. It is the Gospel of continuous action, of raw survival, where the word "immediately" dictates the pace. It is the story of a God who became a Servant and marches, sweating and exhausted, healing the sick, casting out violent demons, and facing death head-on.

To rewrite this breathless pace, without losing a single comma of theological and historical fidelity, I needed a pen that cut away the excesses. A raw, direct, and instinctual prose. That is why I summoned the genius of the master of American survivalist literature: Jack London.

In Mark: The Gospel of the Servant, poetic language gives way to the muscle of the narrative. Through London's aesthetic (reminiscent of the masterful rawness of The Call of the Wild), you will not just read about the miracles; you will feel your throat dry with the dust of Galilee. You will feel the primal terror of the disciples in the storm, the despair of the epileptic boy's father, the tension of a clandestine trial, and the bare, raw pain of the wooden cross.

The journey is hard and holds no romanticism. The Master leads the way, with cracked feet and a resolute gaze toward Calvary.

My 29th Book: Matthew - The Gospel of the King

Reaching the milestone of 29 published books is a moment of profound gratitude in a writer’s life. Looking back and seeing every story I helped bring into the world is deeply moving. But I must confess that the project I’m announcing today has a different flavor. It is, without a doubt, the most ambitious, reverent, and immersive work I have ever dared to create.

Since the advancement of new technologies and Artificial Intelligence, I have noticed a global fascination with “alternative versions” and creative adaptations of everything we know. As a Christian and an author, a question began to echo in my mind: What if we could apply this concept to the greatest story of all time, uniting the sacred text with the highest classic literature?

That is how the Voices of the Kingdom Collection was born.

The idea is simple in its essence, but colossal in its execution: to rewrite each of the Gospels, maintaining 100% theological and historical fidelity, but assuming the pen, style, and genius of great masters of world literature in the public domain.

To open this monumental series, I chose the Gospel of Matthew. Since this is the gospel focused on proving that Jesus is the promised Messiah—the King—the narrative called for an epic tone, a deep social compassion, and a fierce critique of the theatrical hypocrisy of the powerful. There was no doubt: I cast the grandmaster of English literature, Charles Dickens, to be the “voice” of this first book.

In Matthew: The Gospel of the King, you will not read fragmented verses. You will dive into a continuous epic novel. Through the vivid characterizations and monumental prose of Dickens, you will feel the heat of the sun in the Sermon on the Mount, the suffocating tension in Herod’s palace before the Magi, the fury of the waves in the Sea of Galilee, and the silent majesty of the cross.

The essence of the Sacred remains untouched; only the frame has been carved with the fine wood of classic literature. The result is a reading that moves, captivates, and makes us walk through the dust of Israel alongside the Son of God.

The Master is teaching on the mountain. I invite you to sit on the grass and listen.

My twentieth book — Words of Faith: A Way to Connect You to God

This book marks a new step in my literary style. Like the previous one, The Flame of Truth, was a watershed in my novels.

During the writing, I delved into new styles of poems, verses, metrics, rhymes, etc. The reader will notice a remarkable difference compared to the previous poetic books.

For the first time, there are poems with stanzas with two verses, poems without rhymes (free verse); and a variety of meters in the verses (longs, shorts, mediums); and I used more literary resources as personification, hyperbole, metaphor, etc.

All this makes this book unique and full of new features.

Inspiration

The poems were made from the ideas I got from some sermons I watched on YouTube. In the last months, I accompanied the messages of the pastors Dante Gebel, Joel Osteen, Danilo Montero, Andréa Vargas and Joyce Meyer; and also the inspirational channels: Guided Morning Prayers and Above Inspiration.

The main subject of the poems is the message of hope and faith in God. Besides that, there are biblical stories and poems to make the reader reflect on their behavior and journey in the Christian faith.

Poems written in other languages

Among the new features, is the writing of poems in other languages. Some of them were written originally in English and Spanish. So, they were translated into Portuguese.

I’m proud that I could do it, mainly in English, because I consider it more complicated to rhyme than Spanish.

The Future

I watched many videos and already have too many ideas for the next books. Many incredible poems will be written.

New book

I’m working on a new book of Christian poems. (It’s not part of the Christian Poetry series).

The new book will be a different collection in many ways. I’m doing my best in this book to be something unique. I believe that readers will notice the difference in style in this book.

I’m experimenting with new features in the construction of poems, among them: the extension of the poems, number of verses per stanza, metric, formation of rhymes, etc.

I’d like to say more, but I risk revealing details that are crucial to the book. I’ll share with you some excerpts from the poems I’ve already written, so you can have a taste of what's coming.

“Prayer is a fundamental part of the Christian life,

For many reasons, each one keeps praying.

They always pray asking for some blessing,

And there are also prayers asking for pardon.

God will hear all prayers, no matter the reason.”

“I am very weak,

But God is with me.

I can do anything,

But God can do all things.”
