My nineteenth book — The Flame of Truth: Lights in Darkness

I conceived the initial idea for this story 10 years ago. I had a draft with the plot, its characters, and world elements. I used many of them for the writing.

This book represents a milestone in my writer’s journey because it is full of new features.

The first one is the genre. This book is a religious dystopia. For those who are not familiar with this term, dystopia is a story that depicts a world where there is extreme oppression, suffering, injustice, and violence; usually under an authoritarian political regime.

The story takes place in the 22nd century in Brazil, with a reality very far from the present (I hope this reality never comes true).

Another new feature is the inclusion of illustrations. Using the Playground AI tool, I’ve created scenes and characters. I suppose this will make the story more engaging and vivid.

I wrote using Bing AI as an assistant for grammar correction and consultation. Microsoft’s tool helped me to choose more common words and expressions that improve the text/reading flow.

This was the book that took me the longest time to finish, about 7 months from the start of writing to the final punctuation.

I changed my English accent in this book; I switched from British English to American English. I don’t even know why I’ve used a British accent before.

And finally, this book has significant changes in dialogue. Previously, I used : (colon) in the book’s dialogues—wrong for English writing— and now, I’m using “,” (comma). Besides that, I reduced the use of these marks in the text, I studied other books and noticed that the excessive use of them makes the reading slow, like a theatrical play.

Meu décimo nono livro — A chama da verdade: luzes na escuridão

A ideia inicial dessa história foi pensada há cerca de 10 anos. Eu tinha um rascunho com a trama, os personagens e os elementos do mundo. Aproveitei muito deste material.

Este livro representa um marco em minha trajetória de escritor por estar cheio de novidades.

A primeira delas é o tema. Este livro é uma distopia religiosa. Para aqueles que não sabem o que isso significa, distopia é uma história caracterizada pela apresentação de um mundo onde há condições de extrema opressão, sofrimento, injustiça e violência; geralmente sob o domínio de um regime político autoritário.

A história se passa no Brasil do século XXII, com uma realidade muito distante da atual (espero que essa realidade nunca se concretize).

Outra novidade é a inclusão de ilustrações. Utilizando a ferramenta Playground AI criei cenários e personagens. Imagino que isso fará a história mais interessante e vívida.

Escrevi utilizando o Bing AI como assistente na correção gramatical e consultor. A ferramenta da Microsoft auxiliou indicando palavras e expressões mais comuns que melhoram a fluidez do texto/leitura.

Este foi o livro que demorei mais tempo para finalizar, cerca de 7 meses desde o início da escrita até a inclusão do último ponto final.

E para finalizar, este livro contém uma redução significativa no uso de : (dois pontos). Estudei outros livros e percebi que o excesso deste símbolo torna a leitura muito pausada, parecendo uma peça teatral.
