Joanna said, “Then, we need help for some people who are living tough times in this pandemic moment. Many are unemployed and without a source of income.”
“The pandemic situation is really something very serious. But unfortunately, I can’t help you.”
Joanna was surprised by the answer, “Why not? You are rich and famous.”
“It’s exactly because of this. It’s very expensive to maintain a life like mine. I’ve already been impacted by the pandemic. Before that, I used to present more than twenty concerts per month. And now, because of the restrictions, I’m receiving money only from social media. I don’t know what to do to maintain my luxury standard of living.”
Joanna took a deep breath, stood, and said nervously, “You should be ashamed of yourself! You’re concerned about living a luxurious life while too many people are starving. You hypocrite! You sing one thing and live another.”
Mark was impressed with Joanna’s courage. She was facing a famous person.
Hulda was indignant about Joanna’s words. She stood and said nervously, “And who do you think you are to say this?”
Joanna placed her right hand on her chest as a sign of pride. And she said seriously, “I’m a person who is trying to make a difference in a world that needs help! But I noticed that no help will come out from here. Let’s go, Mark.”
